Specialty Dressings - Wound Care
When treating complex wounds that demand more than standard adhesive bandages, specialty dressings play a vital role in advanced wound management. At ATC Medical, we recognize that types of wounds such as diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, traumatic wounds, skin tears, chronic wounds, and pressure injuries require targeted care.
These wounds are often slow to heal, carry a high risk of infection, and significantly impact a patient’s quality of life if not properly managed. That’s why we offer a diverse range of specialty wound dressings designed to support each stage of healing, control exudate levels, reduce bacterial load, and promote a moist, balanced environment for faster healing.
Whether you're treating acute wounds, chronic wounds, or wounds with the presence of infection, our dressings offer advanced protection and performance necessary for effective patient care.
Our collection includes high-performance types such as hydrocolloids, hydrogels, alginates, foam dressings, silicone-based options, and antimicrobial agents like silver-infused dressings. Each product is designed to address specific wound conditions.
Commonly Used Wound Dressings
Hydrocolloids act as a protective barrier and help create a moist environment, ideal for lightly exuding wounds. Hydrogels provide hydration to assist with dry or necrotic tissue and ease topical medication application.
Hydrogels are especially beneficial for dry wounds where maintaining moisture is critical. Alginates, which are particularly effective for exudative wounds, offer a strong absorptive layer capable of handling heavy exudate while encouraging hemostasis in deep wounds.
They also help manage excess fluid, which is common in draining wounds. Foam dressings provide both insulation and padding, guarding against further trauma and protecting the outer layer of the wound.
For an infected wound or one at risk of bacterial contamination, silver dressings can actively reduce bacterial growth and fight signs of infection.
Many of our dressings feature a non-adherent layer that protects the wound bed and allows for less painful removal, improving the overall healing experience. These dressings are especially useful for managing fragile tissue, which is more prone to damage during dressing changes.
They are designed to work in conjunction with secondary dressings, compression bandages, gauze sponges, and additional tape when more secure placement is required.
Specialty Dressings
In more severe cases or following a surgical procedure that uses primary closure, these dressings can be part of a comprehensive care regimen. This often includes cleansing with normal saline, saline solution, or mild soap, along with regular wound assessments and the use of topical medications.
Each product in our lineup is selected for its clinical effectiveness and ability to meet the demands of various types of wound care, from surface abrasions to severe wounds with extensive tissue damage.
At ATC Medical, we’re proud to work with top-tier manufacturers to provide healthcare professionals, caregivers, and individuals with access to reliable, innovative solutions that enhance the wound healing process.
Available in a variety of sizes to match the approximate size and needs of each wound, our specialty dressings are designed for use across multiple care settings, from hospitals to at-home recovery.
Whether you're addressing a surgical wound, managing bacterial contamination, or supporting the natural stages of healing, you can trust ATC Medical to deliver advanced wound care products that support comfort, protection, and quality care at every stage.
